Rookie Workout Mistakes You Should Never Make

April 14, 2023 by kevin in Workouts

The internet is flooded with embarrassing moments. There are plenty of people trying to work out and doing it horribly wrong. Such a person is known by a lot of terms such as rookie, beginner, and even the insulting term ‘noob’. But, if you want to set yourself apart from these terms and rather be considered as a ‘promising beginner’, here are some common mistakes you should never make when going to the gym:

1. Guessing: One of the best ways to go viral is to just guess how a piece of equipment works. You may end up looking like the funniest person in the entire gym. Yes, we also understand that always bugging your gym trainer every time you can’t understand how something works seems awful, but the way things go in the gym are a bit different. Here, the experts are more than happy to help you get to your fitness goals provided that you show promise. So, heed their advice any time you are confused.

2. Magical Supplements: Supplements, as the word suggests, is something which is supplementary to your current diet, and not a replacement. Be it the amino acids, proteins, mass gainer or any other form of supplement, in the end what matters is how much you work out and what do you eat. There are even some supplements which are completely useless, bringing no change to your body at all. Such can be easily seen in TV commercials, newspapers, social media and whatnot. The claims are too good to be true, because they are.

3. Planning Early: Perhaps the most common mistake that a person could make when going to the gym is going with a goal. It seems stupid to work out without one, but if you don’t believe us, consult someone else who is a gym enthusiast and he/she will tell you the same thing. Staying persistent should be the goal instead of losing x amount of weight or getting ‘swole’.

4. Abrupt Change: Those who have ditched their early diet completely and changed to a new one should be aware that it never works, simply because a large majority of us do not have the will to cope with the major change, and that’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Instead, you can live a healthy lifestyle by gradually increasing the healthy food and decreasing the unhealthy ones to help the body adjust more easily.
