Some people are afraid of running in big races or marathon while others are simply afraid of running in familiar terrains. So it’s high time you overcome your fear of running with the help of these 5 tips to change your views.

• Run long distances – one of the huge challenges that people have is that they will not be able to make it to the finishing line if it’s a marathon or a long race. One way to overcome is to put an emphasis on the distance as you are practicing your running.

• Prepare for it – marathons or races are going to be unknown for you if you are appearing for the first time but that doesn’t mean you cannot overcome them. prepare yourself not just physically but mentally as well for the race and you will be good to go.

• Aspire to become better – not all runners are going to be of the same standard. So if you want to conquer the fear of not being good enough then you can aspire to become better and eventually the best. Never think that you are not good enough.

• Kick the self-consciousness – one of the biggest fear that keeps the people from running and doing their part is that they are afraid they will be watched. Kick that self-consciousness aside and start running like no one is watching you.

• Keep on running for fun – if you are scared to run then it is likely that you are not enjoying running all that much. Make sure you have fun running so that you don’t take it up as a challenge or burden in your schedule.
