Feeling Like an Under-Eater? These Signs will Confirm Your Suspicion

March 29, 2023 by kevin in Healthy Living

Even though a majority of the world is obsessed with reducing obesity by shedding pounds, there are many among us who are just as obsessed with gaining weight, but no amount of mass gainers, weight gainers or diet plans have been working. Sometimes, the main suspicion behind this is the doubt whether you are under eating. If you are among those people as well, it’s time to have a look at some of the signs, which show that you might be under-eating after all:

1. Feeling Cold: When you generally feel cold all the time, it may very well be a sign that your body simply isn’t getting the calories that it’s supposed to get. Although this sign is also attributed to expected longevity, you can relate to it if you haven’t been eating enough. If you are confused as to whether you are actually cold or not, feeling cold in the summer season is a dead giveaway.

2. Pregnant: Scientists have already stated and declared this since a long time that a low-calorie diet with improper nutrition leads to infertility in women, which is kind of your body’s way of telling you that you do not eat enough to keep both you and the baby healthy. Needless to say an increased calorie diet will bring things back on track.

3. Unpredictable Mood: Inadequate food intake can lead to an irritated and an unpredictable mood, simply because your body is restless and wants to have more food and you might not even realize it. The appropriate way of describing it is the word ‘hangry’ which refers to a state when you are hungry and angry (and in case you are curious, such a word actually exists in the dictionary, look it up if you don’t believe us).

4. Insomnia: Exercising a lot, coupled with the lack of a calorie-rich diet, is also one of the signs you should look out for if you suspect you are undereating. This is simply because your liver doesn’t have the adequate amount of glycogen for keeping the level of your blood sugar optimal. This can cause insomnia, and in some extreme cases, even wake you up in the middle of the night when you are sleeping. If you are facing this particular symptom, we not only suggest you to add calories, but also some extra carbs and fats before you go to sleep in order to be relieved of this symptom.
