  • 10 EASY WAYS TO DE-STRESS ALMOST INSTANTLY

March 05, 2023 by kevin in Mind & Body

Juggling the endless workload and home duties isn’t an easy task, and if you’re one of those who tend to feel half dead by the time you reach home, maybe you need to explore some instant de-stressers and have them handy.

Here are 10 easy ways to melt your stress away almost instantly. Read on…

    • Do a quick self massage- you don’t always need someone to massage the sore spots on your body- just use your hands to lightly release the tension in tensed areas of your neck and shoulders, which releases oxytocin- a hormone that makes you feel happy.

    • Chant a mantra- choose a word that makes you feel happy and less stressed- chant it over and over again the next time you’re feeling down. You can also hold a visual image of yourself feeling relaxed and calm as you chant.

    • Get some fresh air- getting out for a breath of fresh air could be an effective way to release stress, especially if you’re caught up in the 9 to 5 schedule, and don’t have time to get outdoors.

    • Try guided visualization- download a guided visualization audio on your phone and spend a few minutes listening to it. This will help you achieve a calm state of mind more quickly.

    • Plan your day well- this simple act can be amazingly powerful, especially if you’re stressed because of too much work and not enough planning. This will get you more organized and at ease.

    • Fix your posture- scientists have found that by simply adopting a powerful body posture can help you feel more calm and relaxed, and can reduce negativity, stress and anxiety.

    • Laugh out loud- laughing is one of the best medicines, and having a hearty laugh on a daily basis is absolutely essential. Take a few minutes to go through some jokes or funny videos and lighten up.

    • Take a deep breath- you’ll be surprised how effective it is in releasing stress and bringing more positivity and relaxation into your body. Simply focus on your breath for a few minutes, and take long, deep breaths for at least 15 minutes- you’ll notice a visible improvement in your energy levels.

    • Get some chocolate- biting onto a small piece of dark chocolate can melt away your worries almost instantly, and improve your mood. What’s more, dark chocolate is also rich in antioxidants which are healthy for the body.

    • Take a power nap- there’s nothing better than taking a short nap when you’re feeling low. It’ll help recharge your batteries and improve your energy levels dramatically.
