Consider opting for steel-cut or large-flake oats rather than quick or instant oats, as instant oats have a higher glycemic index and a greater impact on blood sugar levels. Additionally, while you can add any type of fruit and nut butter depending on your preferences, certain types may offer a different set of nutrients.
