  • 7 SUPER EASY MEMORY BOOSTERS TO TRY NOW!

March 29, 2023 by kevin in Mind & Body

A healthy memory is the key to a healthy brain, and if you’re one of those who tend to forget their keys and probably teeny tiny things that are of importance, here’s something for you.

Check out this simple list of 7 memory boosters that when practiced regularly, can actually help you improve your concentration abilities and recall things better.

    Sit Straight
Practicing good posture can actually make a huge different in improving your memory and recalling abilities. It has been found that sitting up straight and tilting your chin upwards can boost the flow of oxygen and blood to the brain by up to 40%, which in turn, helps you retain information much better.

    Watch Funny Videos
Okay, this one may sound strange, but it has actually been found to be true. The findings of a recent study have revealed that elderly individuals who watched a funny video for a few minutes had an improvement in their ability to recall things, as well as in visual recognition. The researchers believe that this could be due to the fact that funny videos tend to be a form of stress relief, which can reduce the secretion of the hormones cortisol and catecholamines, which can in turn, boost memory.

    Choose a Different Font Style
If you’re having trouble recalling important stuff at work, simply changing the font style of your documents could help make a difference. Researchers have found that using an unusual font for your study materials and presentations can help you recall information better- so go ahead and give it a try.

    Go for a Walk
Going out for regular walks can help prevent shrinkage of the hippocampus region of the brain, which is involved with memory. Studies have found that individuals who go out for short walks everyday had improvements in the function of their hippocampus, and also had better brain health in general.

    Lift Weights
Looking for some motivation to work out? It has been found that people who lift weights and underwent strength training were able to remember information up to 60% better than those who didn’t get involved in any kinds of physical activity.

    Chew Gum
This one’s probably the easiest way to boost memory naturally- chewing gum can help increase heart rate, blood pressure and the flow of blood to the brain, which can improve memory significantly.

    Use a Pen and Paper
Using a pen and paper to jot down key points of some important information can help you remember it brainer, and this one’s an absolute no brainer. It has also been found that writing things down instead of typing them can be even more effective in terms of retention of information.
