Ideal Weight for Healthy Living

April 03, 2023 by kevin in Healthy Living

How do you know your ideal weight? Is it by the fact that people are always amazed by your body shape? Alternatively, do you take an extra step to learn what it means to be of ideal weight. Some people think that the ideal weight has got everything to do with your shape not knowing that there are many factors that are considered before your ideal weight can be determined. So what is your ideal weight?

Ideal weight
Your ideal weight is one that you do not need to lose or add to live a healthy and fit life. All you need is to endeavor to maintain it. According to many doctors, they prefer defining it as your healthy weight as losing or gaining of weight has a direct relation with your health. Your ideal weight can be determined by various factors such as diet, exercise, genetics, age, environment and metabolism rate.

Body Weight versus Body Mass Index
One important thing that you should know is that weight varies according to the stature of different individuals. If you are 5’1 inches tall, you should not compare your weight to someone who is 4’9 inches tall just because you are age mates or live in the same neighborhood. It is therefore, important that you calculate your BMI before you can make a conclusion if you need to lose or add some pounds. To calculate the BMI, divide your weight, which is measured in pounds or kilograms by height, which is measured in meters or feet. If your BMI falls between 19 and 24.9, you are in your ideal weight. However, you should be worried if it is less than 19 or more than 24.9 respectively. One is a case of underweight and the other a case of overweight.

How to Achieve Your Ideal Weight
This is a common question that women ask after realizing that they are out of moves. They either need to add or lose some pounds to add up to the statistics of women who have achieved their ideal weights. The best and easiest way to ensure that you get to your ideal weight is by eating a healthy diet and engaging in physical exercises. If you are underweight, ensure that you take foods that contain high calories such as almonds.
Do not be deceived by the images you see in the magazines or the internet. Neither slim nor huge means healthy living. You need to ensure that you are of ideal weight because that is the meaning of healthy living.
