Pro tips for muscle building to help you ace the strength game

September 17, 2024 by admin in Mind & Body

With so much information out there, it can be confusing to know what works best for building muscles. Here are some expert-approved tips you can try.

Anyone who is interested in fitness must have come across social media apps showing guys with huge biceps lifting massive weights. There are so many fitness experts who share ways to build muscles by lifting heavy weights and what not. While you may come across several ways that will help you build muscles, there are certain things that might not work for you.

Fitness coach and speaker Miten Kakaiya recently shared an informative video to help you understand basics about muscle building.

In the caption, the fitness coach shares that muscle building is not the “game of the body but the mind. A great mind-muscle connection will 100 percent increase your gains and will prove more effective than mindlessly practising set after set for hours without achieving any results.”

He also shared that you need to focus on the following things if you want to gain muscle strength:

1. Focus on your form

It goes without saying that lifting weights with proper form is always better than having a proper form. He says that you should master your form and movement before you go on to the next level with higher weights, which will help you build a strong foundation.

2. Mind-muscle connection

The mind-muscle connection is the practice of paying attention to your body when you move. Kakaiya says that developing a strong mind-muscle connection will help you make sustainable gains and target your weak areas.

3. Mindful execution

A combination of all these points will help you master execution and help you bring your ‘A game’ to the gym and let your form flex for you, writes the fitness coach.

When to increase the weight for muscle building?

A lot of people rush into lifting weights that are too heavy for them at the moment. The key here is to determine your muscle strength and progress gradually. Once you’ve adopted the three essential strategies for gaining healthy muscle, you can gradually and steadily raise the weight as you advance, recommends Kakaiya.

What are the benefits of muscle building?

So, muscle building is not only about lifting weights and loading on protein! It is also about building muscles by pushing your limit and giving them time to recover. It requires a lot of patience and perseverance. Having said that, it also offers several health benefits.

1. It will help you build strong bones, which will help lower the risk of osteoporosis.

2. Strength training aids weight management by keeping your overall weight in check. It will also help speed up your metabolism which will burn more calories.

3. It will improve your quality of life and increase your ability to do daily tasks.

4. Muscle building will also help improve balance and possibly lower your chance of injuries.

5. Exercise is one of the best ways to deal with chronic illnesses. Regular strength training may reduce the risk of arthritis, back pain, heart disease, and more.

Don’t fall prey to spurious claims such as lifting heavy weights is the only way to build muscles! Build your strength slowly and allow your body to recover to see results.
