To any regular person or the one who doesn’t go to the gym too often would think of breakfast as one of the three important meals of the day. While it’s definitely true that it’s important, ask any fitness enthusiast regarding breakfast, and they’ll actually make you realize how important it is. It is, in fact, the most important meal of your day. Yes, it’s not your lunch nor your dinner which is as important as your breakfast. So how do you make sure that only the best and healthy food gets into your stomach during the most important meal of your day? By checking out these excellent foods to have during breakfast, of course:
1. Bananas: Whether combined with milk to make a banana milkshake or eating solely coupled with a few other things, bananas are one of those fruits which will kick start your day with a good amount of potassium coupled with a lot of energy to ensure maximum productivity at your work. Fun fact: Strawberries aren’t actual berries, but a banana is.
2. Eggs: Eggs are pretty much the most important food in a gym enthusiast’s life, only seconded by protein shakes. The reason for this is quite simple really: an egg has lots and lots of protein, keeps you full and thus prevents you from overeating, and is extremely versatile as it can be consumed when boiled, scrambled, fried (although we wouldn’t recommend it) and can also be used in numerous cooking recipes.
3. Orange Juice: Just for the record, we aren’t talking about branded commercial packaged orange juice but the one which you have made yourself by blending oranges without preservatives (maybe a bit of salt or sugar but nothing too extravagant), additives, and other similar harmful items. Needless to say that oranges are one of the healthiest fruits so we won’t stress on how great it is. It speaks for itself.
4. Whole Wheat Bread: The main objective of having whole wheat bread is to add to your carbohydrate count to meet your daily need. And even though this carb need can easily be fulfilled by their white counterparts, whole wheat bread still has the better advantage when it comes to nutrients since they have a lot of more of it compared to white bread. Sure in comparison to their counterparts they cost a bit more but the extra money is totally worth it. After all, you’re getting a healthier variant of bread by paying just a little bit more.
