How to Stay Fit in Your 30s

April 02, 2023 by kevin in Mind & Body

One of the major misconceptions among women is that their health will drop dramatically when they reach the so-called dreadful age of 30 years old. We won’t deny the fact that hormone production and overall health will decrease, but it certainly won’t drop to a drastic amount. Regardless, you must still take care of your health to make sure that you stay in shape. With that in mind, here are some of the tips, which will help you stay fit in your 30s:

1. Beat Your Limits: Records and limits are meant to be broken after all. It’s no point in keeping a limit if you cannot break it, which means you’ll be missing out on the extra progress of your body if you stay within the limits. We aren’t saying to full-out blow your records out of the water, which is a good way to get maximum muscle soreness afterwards. Every now and then, you must try to get 20 reps instead of 15 in a set if you have the energy, or even better, performing an extra set.

2. Don’t skip leg day: We are aware that even some of the popular celebs like Hugh Jackman have skipped leg day occasionally, but the ugly truth is that as you reach your 30s, studies state that your loss in muscles tend to be greater in the region of the lower body rather than the upper body. Time to do those squats!

3. Unhealthy diet: Noticing that some of the worst problems regarding your body or even mind are due to unhealthy food, it goes without saying that to complement your intense workout, you must also have a healthy diet which is free of salt and caffeine, for the most part, since ditching salt and caffeine entirely is nearly impossible considering that salts and caffeine are present in many other foods, even the ones which are considered healthy (chocolates, for example, have as much caffeine as a cup of coffee).

4. Stretch more Often: Studies have shown the contraction of muscle and connective tissue as you age, which causes a decrease in flexibility. The simple way to counter this is to stretch more often, or if you have the time, opt for sports which involve a lot of stretching (such as basketball, for instance). Yoga is also an excellent practice to follow to keep both your body and mind at ease.
